Intraocular lenses (IOLs) are implanted inside the eye to replace the natural lens when it is removed during cataract surgery.
The IOLMaster uses laser technology to measure the length of the eye. Accurate measurement is essential for selecting the right lens for each patient, and the IOLMaster is more accurate than earlier methods, including ultrasound. In many cases this added accuracy reduces the need for glasses after surgery.
Where needed, biometry with an ultrasound A-scan is also available.
